"A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship." ~John Muir |
GREETINGS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR |

Hello Volunteers, I hope that this letter finds you all doing well. We have had a fantastic summer and looking forward to our fall festival line-up. We would love to have you join us on one of our two exciting weekend get-a-ways; one in beautiful Morro Bay State Park and the other on the rugged and dramatic Big Sur Coast. Both coincide with fall festivals that add a new and fun-filled dimension to our Volunteer Vacations. In addition to celebrating the arrival of the fall season, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that the proceeds from these outings will be used to support our underprivileged Student Volunteers. As a result, a portion of your outing tuition will be tax deducible. Please take a moment to check out these great and inexpensive get-a-ways. We look forward to catching up with you around the campfire while sipping on a delicious wine! Warmest regards, Mark Landon

Give a Child a Lifetime of Memories Each year Nature Corps invites scores of underprivileged youth to spend a week camping among the big trees of Sequoia National Park and in other parks. This campership program has traditionally been funded through various foundation and corporate grants. Unfortunately, in recent months we have learned that more than 60% of the funding for our youth program will not be available this year. While the funding has diminished, we continue to receive requests by youth agencies and low-income families to have their children participate in our campership program. For many of these youngsters they have been looking forward to camping in the parks all year long. Your donation will help these kids realize their hopes of participating in our student program. Without your support, the chances of these kids visiting California's magnificent parks are virtually nonexistent. |
