Accomplishments

The Nature Corps has provided more than 150,000 volunteer hours towards preserving some of our nation’s most cherished natural treasures.

Samples of The Nature Corps’s accomplishments include:

  • Protecting the world famous General Sherman Sequoia, the largest living organism on earth
  • Planting 20,000 trees to restore impacted habitat in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
  • Restoring the ecological balance of picturesque Yosemite Valley and the Merced River
  • Revegetating Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite’s high country
  • Rehabilitating historic cabins, antiquated park service facilities and amphitheaters
  • Preserving sea life and threatened flora on the Channel Islands
  • Protecting the rainforests of Hawaii

Overall, the Nature Corps has organized more than 5,000 volunteers who have contributed to projects valued at more than $6,500,000.
