Students and their families will attend an overnight campout on their campus to learn about Art, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and Citizenship through the National park experience.

“Campus Campout” is geared towards K-6 students across California in this pilot program.

Twenty elementary schools throughout California will be invited to participate in this pilot program next May - 2009.

Nature Corps’ goal is to introduce the National Parks to students across the nation through “Campus Campout”.

Friday Night:
• Video display on the National Parks Park Service Presentation
• Wildlife Education
• Conservation & Recreation
• Fire Ecology Camp Cookout Camp Games Local Storyteller Music & Stargazing

Saturday Morning:

• Breakfast Volunteer Project
• Families will collaborate on a campus project to benefit their school or community
