Your excursion begins at our secluded base camp in the heart of Yosemite Valley. After settling in, we will enjoy a festive dinner and meet with park staff for an overview of our upcoming adventure in Yosemite. Afterwards, we will hike to Mirror Lake Meadow to get an incredible view of Half Dome, one of the most dramatic displays of granite formation in the Sierra Nevada. This enormous granite face reaches 8,842 feet in elevation. After our hike, we'll gather around the evening campfire to savor one of our chef's delectable desserts.
Day 2
After waking up to the savory aromas of a hearty breakfast, we will prepare for our day in the field. Once we arrive at the project site, park biologists will provide further information and direct us on this important conservation effort to restore Yosemite's world renowned ecosystems. The project will wrap up by mid-afternoon at which time we will head back to camp to relax and enjoy several unique and delicious h'orderves. A hearty BBQ dinner will be awaiting us as we dine surrounded by Yosemite's breathtaking glacial domes. After dinner we'll drive up to Glacier Point where we will enjoy a spectacular view of the sunset as it flashes its orange-pink alpine glow across the Sierra Nevada and the expansive star-studded sky comes to life.
Day 3
Today we will continue working on our project until noon. After work we will enjoy a hike on the Mist Trail. Surrounded by rainbows we will hike up this remarkable trail to the base of Vernal Falls.
After dinner we will explore several of the meadows in Yosemite Valley where bears, deer, and other wildlife can often be sighted.
Day 4
This morning we will take a drive up to Sierra high country to visit Tuolumne Meadows. On the way we will stop at beautiful Tenaya Lake. After arriving at Tuolumne meadow, we will hike up to Lembert Dome for a breathtaking view of the meadow below and then hike further up to Dog Lake, where we will enjoy our picnic lunch. For those who desire a more challenging hike there is the Cathedral Peaks trail. The trail will take you to a gorgeous meadow and glacial lake with the surrounding Cathedral Peaks piercing the sky. In the afternoon, there will be opportunities for going to the visitor center, swimming, fishing or relaxing with a good book on the banks of the Tuolumne River. That evening we'll enjoy a celebratory banquet as part of our Farewell Ceremony.
Day 5
After breakfast we will break camp and head out to photograph spectacular Yosemite Falls. At a height of over 6,500 feet, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America and the 5th tallest in the world.
