Volunteer Vacations - Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park

Experience the rewards of leaving your personal legacy in one of our nation's most cherished parks, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park.

Since 1990 the Nature Corps has made significant contributions to the preservation of Sequoia National Park with the Corps' volunteers providing over $1 million of donated labor on critical conservation projects.

One of Nature Corps' most important efforts has been to protect the world-renowned General Sherman Tree -- the largest living organism on earth. Every year, one million people visit this remarkable sequoia resulting in substantial impact on its surrounding environs. Nature Corps has undertaken a massive restoration of the area and for its accomplishments received three "Take Pride in California" Awards and Travel & Leisure's, "Mark of Innovation".

Projects on upcoming volunteer vacations include:

  • Rehabilitate Sequoia's Giant Forest
  • Plant tree seedlings
  • Build new trails along the Kaweah River
  • Restore Halstead Meadow
Volunteers devote a portion of the Sequoia excursion to working on these important conservation projects. During the remaining part of the vacation, experienced Nature Corps staff will lead you on side-excursions to explore ancient sequoia groves, swim beautiful lakes, hike into Crystal Cave and summit glacial domes to view Sequoia's spectacular Great Western Divide.

Once we return to our base camp, you will have free time to enjoy hiking, fishing, photography, reading, playing Frisbee, or taking a nap under a majestic pine.

Experienced staff to guide you on VIP excursions, delicious meals and comfortable accommodations are included as part of this rewarding and memorable volunteer vacation.
