America’s Treasures
America’s National Parks are our nation’s most valued treasures. Within her boundaries, America finds alpine meadows strewn with lupine, the dignity of redwood forests, canyons thousands of years in the making, and the sound of surf crashing on to silent, white sand beaches.

Stark granite cliffs and raging waters sound a call to adventure; quite tide pools and tranquil streams invite the reflective minds. No wonder some 300 million Americans visit their National Parks each year.

And no wonder individual Americans have for decades given of their time and resources to protect these treasures for their children and grand children. The Nature Corps shares that commitment.

The Role of the Nature Corps
The impact of 300 million visitors a year is being felt at all National Parks, Unfortunately, resources allotted to the National Park Service are not enough to keep up with the burden of popularity. Individual commitment is needed.

Since 1987, the Nature Corps has responded to the need for individual commitment by organizing volunteer expeditions to help the National Park Service meet the recreational and conservation needs of our nation.

Together, individuals restore wilderness areas, protect endangered species, rehabilitate park facilities, and preserve historic structures.

The Nature Corps has already provided more than 100,000 volunteer hours toward preserving the beauty of the National Parks, saving the Park Service more than $3,000,000.

Conservation & Fun in the National Parks
Regardless of age or experience, you can volunteer for a working adventure. There is something for everyone to do from teens to seniors. Families can take part, too. Our volunteer vacations are designed for different interests and age groups.

Expeditions are structured so that volunteers work on a conservation project half the trip, leaving time for hiking, swimming, nature walks and other fun-filled activities.
