Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Nature Corps. All outings are full at this time. Please join our mailing list to receive updates for future events. Thank you!
The Nature Corps has a long history of service in Yosemite National Park. The Corps' volunteer vacations program began in Yosemite Valley in 1987. Since then hundreds of volunteers have donated their labor on projects valued at nearly $1million. Volunteers are needed for a variety of projects including exotic plant management in the Valley and revegetating meadows in the High Sierra to rebuilding amphitheaters and restoring historic structures.
Volunteers will devote approximately half of the volunteer vacation to working on projects similar to those listed above. After experiencing the personal rewards of contributing to the preservation of this magnificent natural treasure, we will have the opportunity to explore the High Sierra where we will enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.
A sample of the projects on upcoming volunteer vacations:
Restoring impacted meadows in Yosemite's high country
Removing non-native vegetation that threaten delicate habitat
Planting trees, collecting seeds and propagating threatened flora
Rehabilitating campgrounds that have been damaged by overuse
Restoring Yosemite's antiquated buildings and other park structures
Volunteers will devote approximately half of the volunteer vacation to working on projects similar in nature to those listed above. After experiencing the personal rewards of contributing to the preservation of this magnificent natural treasure, we will have the opportunity to explore Yosemite's High Sierra where we will enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.
Each morning we will rise to the wonderful aromas of coffee and a hearty breakfast prepared by our outdoor chef. After preparing our lunch, we'll form small travel groups to seek out and study fascinating points of interest in Yosemite. Led by experienced and knowledgeable naturalists, participants will hike past fields of wildflowers, glacial lakes and snow-capped mountains as they explore and learn about Yosemite's High Sierra. Once we return to our base camp, you will have free time to enjoy hiking, fishing, photography, reading, playing Frisbee, or taking a nap under a majestic pine.
